Authentication bypass in affected Apache Tomcat releases allows remote attackers to read protected pre- or post-resources via crafted paths. AbstractArchiveResourceSet and DirResourceSet accepted any request path sharing the webAppMount string prefix without requiring a path-segment boundary. Exploitation requires a PreResources or PostResources mapping below the application root and a security constraint protecting only the intended path.
