CVE-2025-4912Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via path traversal

Published May 19, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025

Path traversal in SourceCodester Student Result Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary files. The Image File Handler in update_student.php accepts traversal sequences in old_photo and uses the resulting path for deletion without confining it to the image directory. Access to the student-update function is required, and deletion is limited to files writable by the web server process but can interrupt service or destroy data.
