CVE-2025-4905Public exploit

Local code execution via unvalidated pickle loading

Published May 19, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025

Unsafe deserialization in University of Washington Basestation3 3.0.0 through 3.0.4 allows local users to execute arbitrary code. The load_qc_pickl function opens the supplied qc_file and repeatedly passes its contents to pickle.load without validating its origin or serialized objects. Exploitation requires local access to provide the crafted pickle and cause the function to load it; payload code runs with the Basestation3 process's privileges.
