TLS certificate validation in Couchbase .NET SDK before 3.7.1 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read client-server data. The fallback certificate callback accepted a built-in name-mismatch failure because it revalidated the chain without rejecting RemoteCertificateNameMismatch; a default option also made connections use IP addresses rather than hostnames. Exploitation requires a network position enabling interception and a certificate that passes the remaining checks; the documented impact is disclosure without data modification or service interruption.
