Account takeover via unchecked user detail updates
Published Nov 20, 2025 · Updated Nov 20, 2025
Authorization bypass in Revive Adserver 5.5.2 and 6.0.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter other users' email addresses. The admin-user.php, advertiser-user.php, affiliate-user.php, and agency-user.php scripts update existing user details directly from POST parameters without enforcing ownership. Access to any affected user-management script is required; the changed address enables a password reset and takeover of the targeted account.
