CVE-2025-48960

TLS data compromise via weak server key

Published Jun 4, 2025 · Updated Jun 4, 2025

Inadequate encryption strength in Acronis Cyber Protect 16 before build 39938 allows attackers to read or alter TLS data via a weak server key. Acronis identifies the cryptographic defect only as a weak server key used for TLS encryption and does not disclose its algorithm, size, reuse, storage, or endpoint. Attackers require adjacent network access and high attack complexity but no authentication or user interaction; successful attacks disclose limited protected content or alter protected traffic without interrupting service.
