Unauthenticated object injection via serialized cookie data
Published Jun 3, 2025 · Updated Jun 4, 2025
Deserialization of untrusted data in Auth0 Auth0-PHP 8.0.0-BETA3 through 8.3.0 allows remote attackers to inject PHP objects via cookies. CookieStore::decrypt decodes attacker-controlled cookie content and passes it to unserialize before authentication, allowing object instantiation from serialized payloads. No account or user interaction is required; reachable gadget classes determine whether object injection changes data, executes code, or interrupts the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
