Arbitrary file write via traversal filename
Published May 18, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025
Path traversal in CoinExchange commit 8adf508b996020d3efbeeb2473d7235bd01436fa allows remote attackers to write files outside the upload directory. The uploadLocalImage path passes MultipartFile.getOriginalFilename() to uploadFile, which appends it to uploadPath without normalization or containment checks. The admin upload endpoint requires no login; a crafted multipart filename writes attacker-supplied content to an arbitrary filesystem path.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
