Backup data disclosure via misleading encryption control
Published Aug 14, 2025 · Updated Aug 14, 2025
Missing encryption in Bosch Rexroth AG ctrlX OS - Setup allows local users to read sensitive data from exported backup files. The web interface presents a password option as backup encryption, but it encrypts only an included private key and leaves the surrounding archive in plaintext. Exposure requires creation of a password-marked backup and local access to that file; the reported consequence is disclosure without modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=1.20.0 <=1.20.1
- Affected versionversion=2.6.0 <=2.6.1
