Local privilege escalation via HID integer overflow
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Feb 13, 2026
Integer overflow in the Microsoft Windows HID class driver allows local users with low privileges to elevate privileges on affected systems. Microsoft also maps an out-of-bounds read, but has not disclosed the affected routine, attacker-controlled value, or faulty arithmetic operation. Exploitation requires authorized local access and no user interaction, and success grants higher privileges in the Windows kernel.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
