CVE-2025-48752Public exploit

Process interruption via locked mutex destruction

Published May 24, 2025 · Updated May 24, 2025

Use-after-free in Forestryks Process Sync 0.2.2 allows local users to interrupt a process through a locked SharedMutex drop. SharedMutex::drop calls pthread_mutex_destroy in the creating process without first verifying that the mutex is unlocked, making locked-mutex destruction undefined behavior. Triggering requires code that locks and then drops the object; public sources establish availability impact but do not specify whether the process hangs or crashes.
