CVE-2025-48748Network attack vector

Administrator access via persistent hard-coded credentials

Published May 29, 2025 · Updated May 29, 2025

Hard-coded credentials in Netwrix Directory Manager 10.0.7784.0 and earlier allow remote attackers to gain administrator access. The installer leaves the legacy GroupIDSSUser local Windows account in place even after version 9 replaced its fixed password with customer-supplied credentials. An attacker who knows the shared credential and can reach the deployment over a connected network can authenticate to the product or its Windows host and compromise integrated Identity Stores.
