Unauthorized subscription edits via missing space access check
Published Aug 11, 2025 · Updated Aug 11, 2025
Missing authorization in Mattermost Confluence Plugin before 1.5.0 allows remote authenticated users to edit inaccessible space subscriptions. The edit-channel-subscription PUT handler passed caller-supplied subscription data to EditSubscription without verifying the caller's Confluence-space access. A valid Mattermost session and an existing subscription are required; successful abuse changes notification settings for a space the account cannot access.
