CVE-2025-4871Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via oversized REST argument

Published May 18, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025

Buffer overflow in PCMan FTP Server 2.0.7 allows remote attackers to execute code by sending a crafted REST command over FTP. The public exploit sends 2,006 padding bytes after REST, overwrites the saved instruction pointer, and redirects execution into a supplied payload. Anonymous FTP login is sufficient in the published exploit, which targets 32-bit Windows XP and opens a reverse shell.
