Authenticated file overwrite and deletion via upload filename
Published May 18, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025
Path traversal in ecommerce-spring-reactjs allows remote authenticated users to overwrite or delete server files through its admin upload API. PerfumeServiceImpl.savePerfume passes MultipartFile.getOriginalFilename directly to File, writes the upload there, and later deletes that attacker-controlled path after sending it to S3. Administrative credentials are required; the reported affected state is commit 464e610bb11cc2619cf6ce8212ccc2d1fd4277fd on the rolling master branch.
