Local privilege escalation via caller-package spoofing

Confused-deputy flaw in Android Framework 14 through 16-qpr2 allows local users to gain privileges through a crafted activity flow. ActivityStarter.executeRequest trusts sourceRecord.launchedFromPackage during FLAG_ACTIVITY_FORWARD_RESULT handling without verifying that the package UID matches the caller, enabling package identity spoofing. Exploitation requires user interaction and a malicious app in an activity chain, allowing it to start a privileged app activity as though invoked by that privileged package.
