CVE-2025-48609

Local service interruption via MmsProvider path traversal

Published Mar 2, 2026 · Updated Mar 2, 2026

Path traversal in Android 14 through 16 allows local users to delete files used by telephony, SMS, and MMS services via crafted paths. Multiple deletion functions in MmsProvider.java fail to reject traversal in file paths before deleting the resolved targets. No additional execution privileges or user interaction are required; deletion can interrupt telephony, SMS, and MMS functionality.
