Local privilege escalation via uncanceled exit animation
Published Mar 2, 2026 · Updated Mar 2, 2026
Lockscreen bypass in Google Android 14 through 16 allows local users to gain elevated access without user interaction. During a user switch, KeyguardViewMediator leaves pending requests in place and accepts a late window-manager exit-animation callback instead of canceling it. No additional execution privileges are required; successful exploitation crosses the lockscreen and exposes the newly selected user's session.
