Local information disclosure via untruncated PDF overwrite
Published Sep 4, 2025 · Updated Sep 8, 2025
Information disclosure in Android Framework 13 through 16 allows local users to read residual data after overwriting an existing PDF. RemotePrintDocument.writeContent opens the selected destination without truncating it, so bytes from a longer prior PDF remain after shorter replacement content is written. Exploitation requires user interaction to select an existing file for a save-to-PDF overwrite, and the consequence is limited to disclosure of the retained trailing data.
