Local privilege escalation via desynchronized Binder RPC parsing
Published Sep 4, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in Android 13 through 16 allows local users to elevate privileges through a malformed Binder RPC transaction. On allocation or object-table span errors, processTransactInternal returns without shutting down the Binder RPC session, leaving unread transaction bytes to be interpreted as subsequent protocol data. A local low-privileged process can supply the malformed data without user interaction and gain higher privileges through the resulting memory write.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
