Authenticated code execution via raw component writes
Published May 30, 2025 · Updated May 30, 2025
Remote code execution in GetSimple CMS Community Edition 3.3.16 through 3.3.21 allows remote authenticated users to run arbitrary PHP. The Edit Component function writes raw user input into a PHP file under admin/components, which the front page later includes and executes. Access to Components → Edit is required; injected code runs as the Apache/PHP user and can take over the application.
