Authenticated channel access via Customer mass assignment
Published May 30, 2025 · Updated May 30, 2025
Mass assignment in FreeScout before 1.8.180 allows remote authenticated users to access customer channel functionality through crafted fields. CustomersController passes client-provided data to Customer::setData(), while Customer permits channel and channel_id assignment; the patch removes those fields first. A valid account is required, and published evidence establishes only limited confidentiality impact without identifying the exposed data.
