Memory corruption via oversized MLS command
Published May 18, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025
Buffer overflow in FreeFloat FTP Server 1.0 allows remote attackers to corrupt process memory through a crafted MLS command. The MLS command handler processes an oversized attacker-controlled command argument without enforcing the destination buffer's bounds. An unauthenticated FTP connection is sufficient; public records do not establish whether the corruption only crashes the service or enables code execution.
