Unauthenticated relay control via Modbus packet injection
Published Jun 24, 2025 · Updated Jun 25, 2025
Incorrect authorization in Advantech WISE A2.01 B00 allows remote attackers to manipulate digital outputs through Modbus TCP packets. The Modbus TCP service accepts unauthenticated commands addressing digital-output channels and changes their relay state without an authorization gate. Network access to TCP port 502 is required; successful writes can switch connected doors, alarms, power relays, or machinery.
