CVE-2025-48461

Unauthenticated account takeover via predictable session cookies

Published Jun 24, 2025 · Updated Jun 25, 2025

Authentication weakness in Advantech WISE A2.01 B00 allows remote attackers to take over accounts by guessing session cookies. The session-cookie generation mechanism produces predictable values, but Advantech has not disclosed the observable state or algorithm involved. An unauthenticated attacker on an adjacent network can brute-force a valid cookie and obtain root, administrator, or user access, including password resets.
