Privileged file modification via CLI path traversal
Published Sep 5, 2025 · Updated Sep 5, 2025
Path traversal in Eaton UPS Network Management Card Gen2 before 2.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to modify a non-sensitive file. The limited-shell CLI fails to constrain a supplied path to its intended directory before performing the file write. Privileged access to the limited shell is required, and Eaton limits the reported consequence to changing a non-sensitive file.
