Authenticated issue deletion via missing permission check
Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025
Missing authorization in JetBrains YouTrack before 2025.1.76253 allows remote authenticated users to delete issues through the API. The DELETE /api/issues/{issueID} endpoint fails to enforce the documented Delete Issue permission before carrying out an irreversible deletion. Any authenticated account that can reach the API can remove issues despite lacking that project permission, affecting issue integrity without reported data disclosure.
