CVE-2025-48389Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Administrator code execution via unsafe option deserialization

Published May 29, 2025 · Updated May 30, 2025

Deserialization in FreeScout before 1.8.178 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute code on the server. App\Option::set stores attacker-controlled serialized objects, and App\Option::get passes the stored value to PHP unserialize without restricting object classes. Administrator access and a valid session are required; successful exploitation reads or writes server files and runs commands with the web application's privileges.
