Settings changes via missing nonce validation
Published Aug 28, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Duoshuo for WordPress 1.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter plugin settings through forged requests. The settings-update handler accepts state-changing input without correctly validating a WordPress nonce, so a request from another site executes with the administrator's session. Exploitation requires a logged-in site administrator to follow an attacker-controlled link or otherwise submit the crafted request; the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized settings modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
