Router compromise via unbounded submit-url handling
Published May 17, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025
Buffer overflow in TOTOLINK A702R, A3002R, and A3002RU 3.0.0-B20230809.1615 allows remote authenticated users to compromise the router. The /boafrm/formSysCmd HTTP POST handler fails to restrict the submit-url value to the destination buffer's bounds, causing an out-of-bounds write. Access to the management interface is required; exploitation can disclose or alter router data and interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
