CVE-2025-48219Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Subscriber location exposure via leaked SIP Cell ID

Published May 18, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025

Information disclosure in O2 UK O2 before 2025-05-19 allows remote authenticated users to locate subscribers via IMS calls. The IMS service inserts the recipient’s utran-cell-id-3gpp value into a Cellular-Network-Info SIP response sent to the caller. An O2 subscription and an IMS call are required; the exposed Cell ID can be correlated with crowdsourced cell-site data to estimate the recipient’s location, including small urban areas.
