Stored XSS via raw backup-log rendering
Published May 21, 2025 · Updated May 21, 2025
Stored XSS in TYPO3 Backup Plus before 13.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript when backup history is viewed. The Backuprestore.html template passes backup logs containing the attacker-controlled backup name through f:format.raw, processing it without HTML encoding. Exploitation requires administrative backend access to create the crafted backup and a second user to open Backup History; script execution is confined to that user’s browser context.
