Authenticated command execution via unsanitized backup name
Published May 21, 2025 · Updated May 21, 2025
Command injection in TYPO3 Backup Plus 13.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through a crafted backup name. BackupsController::backuprestoreAction passed the submitted backupName into backup creation without restricting shell metacharacters. Access to the extension's backend module is required, and injected commands execute during backup creation with the web process's privileges.
