Unauthenticated shortcode execution via unvalidated action input
Published May 16, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Code injection in RS WP Themes RS WP Book Showcase 6.7.59 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary WordPress shortcodes. The affected action handler passes an inadequately validated value to WordPress's do_shortcode function, which interprets attacker-supplied shortcode content. No login or user interaction is required; consequences depend on the shortcodes registered by the site, while the CNA assessment limits measured impact to confidentiality.
