CVE-2025-48061

Local account access via retained logged-out session

Published May 22, 2025 · Updated May 22, 2025

Insufficient session invalidation in Wire Web App before 2025-05-20-production.0 allows local users to regain a logged-out session. Wire has not disclosed the code-level locus; the persistent-login path fails to remove or reject stored authentication state during ordinary logout. The condition requires a non-temporary login, logout without local-data deletion, and later access to the same browser profile, which restores account access without another login.
