Reachable assertion in Yokogawa Vnet/IP Interface Package R1.07.00 and earlier allows attackers to terminate its software stack. The packet-processing path reaches an assertion on crafted packet content, but Yokogawa has not disclosed the assertion or parsing routine. Exposure requires access to the adjacent Vnet/IP control network; exploitation kills the stack process and interrupts Vnet/IP communications without reported data disclosure or modification.
