CVE-2025-48015Network attack vector

Username enumeration via distinguishable failed-login responses

Published May 20, 2025 · Updated May 20, 2025

Observable response discrepancy in SEL-5056 NMS before 2.16.0 allows remote attackers to distinguish local from central usernames. The failed-login path returns distinguishable responses according to whether the submitted username belongs to the local or central identity source. No authentication or user interaction is required, but repeated comparisons are needed; the result reveals account-source membership without changing data.
