SYSTEM code execution via unsecured file load
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Improper access control in Microsoft PC Manager on affected Windows releases allows local users to execute arbitrary code as SYSTEM. MSPCManagerService loads a file from an unsecured location, allowing attacker-controlled content to enter the privileged service's search path. Exploitation requires prior low-privileged code execution on the target, after which the attacker gains SYSTEM-level control.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
