Remote memory disclosure via incorrect EMF offsets
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Feb 13, 2026
Information disclosure in Microsoft Windows GDI allows remote attackers to read process memory via a crafted EMF metafile. The MRSTARTDOC::bPlay handler advances its cursor after copying lpszDocName but validates lpszOutput from the record's original base, so StringLengthWorkerW reads beyond the allocated buffer. No privileges or user interaction are required, but a reachable application or service must process the attacker-supplied metafile.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.0.10240.0 <10.0.10240.21073
