CVE-2025-47954Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via system stored procedure SQL injection

Published Aug 12, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

SQL injection in Microsoft SQL Server 2022 allows remote authenticated users to elevate privileges through a system stored procedure. The procedure fails to neutralize special SQL elements in attacker-controlled input before incorporating that input into a database command. An account authorized to invoke the affected procedure can execute injected SQL with elevated database privileges; Microsoft has not disclosed the procedure's name.
