Unrestricted file upload in TYPO3 CMS allows remote authenticated users to store potentially harmful files through backend file management. ResourceStorage's addFile, renameFile, replaceFile, and addUploadedFile paths accepted extensions outside an allowlist and did not reject mismatches between a filename extension and detected MIME type. Backend access or another File Abstraction Layer integration is required; stored files are not web-executable, but security services can flag or block the site.
