Unverified password changes in affected TYPO3 CMS 9.x through 13.x releases allow remote authenticated users with administrator rights to take over backend accounts. The DataHandler and Setup Module backend user-management paths accept password edits without current-password confirmation or step-up authentication. An existing administrator session is required; a hijacked or unattended session permits reset of the administrator's own password or another backend user's password.
