Script execution via unsanitized uploaded filenames
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 28, 2025
DOM XSS in DumbDrop before commit db27b25372eb9071e63583d8faed2111a2b79f1b allows context-dependent attackers to run script via a crafted filename. Upload-list rendering inserts folder names, relative paths, and filenames into innerHTML, causing embedded markup to be interpreted instead of displayed as text. A user must select the crafted file, after which its script runs in the DumbDrop origin without requiring an account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
