CVE-2025-47906Public exploit

Command execution via non-directory PATH elements

Published Sep 18, 2025 · Updated Sep 18, 2025

Input misinterpretation in Go standard library os/exec before 1.23.12 and 1.24.0 through 1.24.5 allows attackers to execute binaries. LookPath joins each PATH element with an empty, dot, or dot-dot argument and accepts a non-directory executable as a successful resolution. Exploitation requires control of the argument, filesystem, and PATH; on Windows, a writable parent of a PATH entry can suffice without PATH control.
