Authenticated RCE via unsanitized restore password
Published Oct 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 20, 2025
OS command injection in Microchip TimeProvider 4100 firmware before 2.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The restore-configuration password parameter is passed into an operating-system command without adequate sanitization. Exploitation requires credentials and access to the management web interface on the separate management port, and successful commands can control the appliance.
