Hard-coded Wi-Fi credentials in Flock Safety Gunshot Detection before 1.3 allow physically proximate attackers to intercept device traffic. The ESP32 firmware stores a fallback SSID and password in cleartext and automatically joins that network when LTE is unavailable or unconfigured. Initial extraction requires physical device access and debugging knowledge; the exposed fallback permits a nearby rogue access point to intercept device traffic, not cloud data.
