Application crash via NULL subtitle text pointer
Published Aug 7, 2025 · Updated Aug 7, 2025
NULL-pointer dereference in GStreamer gst-plugins-base before 1.26.2 allows remote attackers to crash applications via crafted subtitle files. The subparse plugin's tmplayer_parse_line function passes a potentially NULL text_start pointer, incremented by one, to g_string_append as its source buffer. No privileges or user interaction are required in the published assessment, but a target application must process the crafted TMPlayer subtitle.
