CVE-2025-47792

Data exposure via unrestricted socket share creation

Published May 16, 2025 · Updated May 16, 2025

Improper access control in Nextcloud Desktop before 3.15 allows local users to expose synced data through socket-created share links. The socket API accepts public-share creation requests from installed third-party applications without restricting callers to an authorized client. Exploitation requires low-privileged local code and user interaction; generated URLs can disclose almost all synchronized data to an external service.
