Administrator takeover via backslash-based SQL injection
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 19, 2025
SQL injection in emlog 2.5.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read administrator credentials through a crafted article. admin/article_save.php strips quotes and line breaks from logcontent-derived origContent but leaves backslashes intact, then updateLog interpolates the value into SQL. Ordinary registered access and enabled site registration are required; the resulting administrator credentials permit backend code execution.
