CVE-2025-47782Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unescaped camera path

Published May 14, 2025 · Updated May 14, 2025

OS command injection in motionEye 0.43.1b1 through 0.43.1b3 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via a camera path. The add_camera path places the supplied V4L2 device string in a single-quoted v4l2-ctl pipeline that subprocess.run executes with shell=True, so an embedded quote enables command substitution. The request requires motionEye administrator credentials, and injected commands run non-interactively with the service account's privileges, assigned to motion by default.
